VOIX .......My SEN project

I was just finishing testing of my SEN project VOIX and as soon as it was on verge of completion a pulse of extreme joy and happiness ran through my veins and my spirit was jumping with joy though i was calm and composed since my roommate was sleeping @ 5:40 am .
I just analysed what all the things i learnt in this project. I want to jot these thoughts which will guide me through whenever i will set out to accomplish something big or small in life.

Well Voix is my software engineering project. When we(team 18) started this project i thought its a small project in term of scope and functionalities but as we gradually delve deeper into complexity of all the issues we @ one point of time found us incapable of accomplishing few basic functionalities we promised at the start. We tried and kept trying hard and finally sail out of all the troubles finally.

I should mention that i was team leader of the team of 10 members whose one team member was our btech batch topper so i was pretty confident of my success as a team leader and after finishing the project i learnt that individuals do count in the team work.A great team member is always an asset to a team. He or she always adds something others cant fill up for. So it was an edge for us. They have very keen sense of perfection and desire to achieve that too. I also seek perfection in whatever things i undertake.

While working i learnt that when ever one faces some problem he should immediately look for solution rather than panicking about the repercussions. I used to panicky a lot before , and instead of searching for solutions to my problem i always had nagging habit of looking at obstructions rather than for ways to get over them.

Patience is one thing that can take anyone from being normal to good to better to best to outstanding ... Yes this is one thing that's important while one is on mission to accomplish anything. Goals may be small or big so will the problem be but each and every problem can be solved through perseverance and patience.

It was also my first experience of leadership. It was great learning experience for me though i was reluctant at the start to accept the authority but i am glad at the end. For a leader the most important quality is to listen more and speak less. When you will listen more , you will be able to learn a lot than when you are speaking . I learn t a lot from my team members. I learn t that people expect you to take decisions and one who is leader has to make sure that decisions tough or soft must be taken so that team does not suffer any time. I do took some harsh steps in between in this project though i never intended to but things never come on silver platter for you so you have to make things happen than waiting them to happen on own.

Last but not the least for the first time in my btech i have done something without downloading anything from Internet or ctrl C + ctrl V thing so it brings huge joy and sense of accomplishment to me than anything else. I am really very happy that i did so much of work , I am really feeling great about this project.

Its true that thw whole SEN project was a very good learning experience and it might actually prove to be a very good platform for all future software project.
And I really admire the way in which u lead ur team , its not easy to lead a grp of 10 to develop something of this magnitude.
